In 2015, Alameda Health Systems Highland Hospital, John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek, UCSF-Benioff-Children’s Hospital of Oakland, and Sutter Health Eden Medical Center came together in conjunction with Emergency Medical Services of Alameda County and recognized the need to focus on care of the trauma patient from a team perspective. In response to this recognition, the Annual Trauma Symposium was developed. Our
goal is to provide education to all levels of
caregivers involved in caring for trauma patients.
EMS, trauma centers and non-trauma facilities must work collaboratively to provide evidence-based, up-to-date, and safe care to trauma patients. We have a responsibility as trauma centers, to work with our community and expand the practices and minds of all healthcare providers that encounter injured patients.
Each year we work cohesively to come up with a dynamic line-up of speakers to facilitate an extraordinary event. We could not do this without the support of our partners and our attendees. This year we are now hosting our 8th Annual Symposium and hope to continue this event for many years to come!
